Dear Readers,
Welcome to Issue 99 which contains 16 feature articles, along with media reviews, a book review, and finally, the first of the On the Internet series by our recently appointed editors, Omran Ali Akasha and Mark Feng Teng. The article for this issue surveys the response to emergency online teaching in the Philippines.
Passages. We would like to welcome William S. Pearson as a new co-editor. Will has already been working with EJ for a number of years as a copyeditor, but took a furlough to finish up his dissertation. Welcome back, Will! Furthermore, both co-editors of our Book Review Section, Catherine Showalter and Alyssa Kermad intend to step down in the near future. Please see the Call for Book Review Co-Editors below.
A new, free book! We’re pleased to announce the publication of English Language Teaching in Latin America, edited by Paul Davies. This book contains a collection of articles published in an ELT magazine-style website that Paul ran from August 2018 to July 2020, English Language Teaching in Latin America, or ELTinLA.
This volume is available as a free PDF from our books page on the TESL-EJ website. Paperback and Kindle versions will be available soon on Amazon.com or your local national Amazon site.
Buying paperback books helps keep TESL-EJ running ad-free. Paul Davies is generously donating all proceeds from sales of the paperback to TESL-EJ’s operating fund. Thank you, Paul.
