TESL-EJ Special Issue
Reflective Practice In Language Education
(to appear November 2014)
Guest Editor: Thomas S.C. Farrell
Reflective practice is a concept where teachers subject their beliefs and practices to critical examination. By engaging in systematic reflections on their practices, language teachers can embark on an examination of attitudes, assumptions and beliefs about language learning and teaching and thus become better placed to make more informed decisions about their practice. This Special Issue on Reflective Practice in Language Teaching seeks papers on any aspect of reflective practice that is original and data-driven research from any level of teacher and/or teacher educator (novice or experienced) and can include (but not limited to) any of the following: The methods, tools and techniques that help support individual, peers or groups of language teachers to reflect; Case studies of individual, groups of language teachers, teacher educators reflecting on practice.
Proposals in the form of a 300-500 word abstract are due no later than January 1, 2014 to Thomas S.C. Farrell, Brock University, Canada (tfarrell@brocku.ca) by e-mail attachment in MS Word format. Successful proposals will describe original data driven research, either quantitative or qualitative, with a rationale for the research and with specific research questions posed and a clearly described design for data collection and analysis.
Remember you can find us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/teslej/) or follow us on Twitter (@teslej).
