Cooperative Learning in Language Education

Cooperative learning, also known as collaborative learning, is a concept in which students work together in small groups of 2-4 members to learn and to enjoy learning. Cooperative learning has long been used in language education and education generally and has deep roots in theory and research. This Special Issue on Cooperative Learning in Language Education seeks articles on any aspect of language education seen through a cooperative learning prism. Topics for these articles can include (but are not limited to) any of the following: classroom practice, teacher education, inclusion, language acquisition theory, cooperative leadership, school development, creative and critical thinking, technology-enhanced learning, responsible citizenship, and critical pedagogy.
Proposals in the form of a 300-500 word abstract are due no later than February 1, 2015 to Dr. Kumiko Fushino, <fushino@tku.ac.jp> by email attachment in MS Word format. Proposers will be notified by February 15, 2015. Priority will be given to data driven proposals, whether they be quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. However, articles of other types will also be considered for inclusion Successful proposers will need to submit their full paper by May 2, 2015.
