Dear Readers,
You have surely noticed that the format of our pages is somewhat different. This is the result of our Technical Editor, Aaron Campbell, having to upgrade our WordPress site, implementing it with a different “theme” since our old theme is no longer supported. Without switching to a new one, we would be permanently stuck with an old, insecure version of WordPress which might not be responsive to updates to other aspects of the server system.
Furthermore, if you are using a mobile device, you should find that this new version adapts much better to a smaller screen. You will note that we have taken away the search boxes from the main page, placing them on a separate page to avoid display problems on small screens.
Policy Changes. We have modified our system of reviewer selection. Henceforth, those who wish to help with reviews will need to submit their CV to the editor, rather than merely ticking a box when creating an account on our submission system. This will provide us with an opportunity to vet new reviewers and provide them with guidance on our editorial policies before they embark on their first review.
New Co-editors. We are delighted to welcome three more co-editors to our editorial team:
• Appa Swami Jasti, University of Hyderabad, India
• Marc Jones, Toyo University, Japan
• Miriam Faine, Monash University (Emerita), Australia
This brings us to a total of 10 co-editors, who handle the assignment of reviewers, and interpreting the sometimes conflicting assessments of the worthiness of the manuscript for publication.
New Submission Editor. Nicholas (“Nicky”) Bremner, one of our Co-editors, has taken on the task of determining the relevance and potential for publication of newly submitted manuscripts, a task that in recent years had fallen on the chief editor.
The Board of Reviewers. We have added approximately 10 new names to our Board of Reviewers. These are scholars who have reviewed at least three manuscripts in the past two years which subsequently reviewed highly by the co-editor in charge.
Thanks to recent reviewers. In a change from our recent policy, we will start thanks ALL reviewers whether or not the article that they reviewed was actually published. In fact, we often find that reviews that are critical of the content, logic or structure are more valuable than those that provide few constructive comments and suggest that the submission can be published with “minor changes”. These individuals reviewed one or more submissions between March 2022 to mid-July: Akifumi Yanagisawa, Akmaral Karabay, Amin Pouresmaeil, Amirreza Karami, Ann E. Roemer, Appa Swami Jasti, Aránzazu García-Pinar, Asli Lidice Gokturk Saglam, Atipat Boonmoh, Atiyeh Kamyabi Gol, Aydan Irgatoğlu, Azran Azmee Kafia, Banan Al Kafri, Behrang Mohammad-Salehi, Chahrazed Mirza, Christina Nicole Giannikas, Clara Vaz Bauler, Colin William Campbell, David Imamyartha, Doreen Ewert, Duy Van Vu, Ehsan Rassaei, Erin Singer, Fahimeh Marefat, Foad Behzadpoor, George Jacobs, Ghazi Ghaith, Gina Paschalidou, Gina Ugalingan, Ha Hoang, Hamed Zandi, Hanh Nguyen, Hilda Freimuth, Hjalmar Hernandez, Hoang Nguyen, Huan Nguyen, Jardel Coutinho Dos Santos, Joey M.
