Abstract

As wide-area computer networks grow in size, so too are they developing simple tools which can be used to send and receive vast amounts of information easily and efficiently. And even though primary and secondary schools are not as yet using these networks extensively, there is every indication that they will do so in the near future. This paper outlines some of the basic access, database, and search tools available on the worlds largest computer network, the Internet. A list of reference books, manuals, and on-line electronic papers about the Internet is included.

Keywords: computer networks, computer uses in education computer software, online systems, man-machine systems
